ABU DHABI T20

PAKISTAN LEAVE SERIES POISED AS KIWIS LOOK TO RECREATE THE MAGIC OF THE FIRST TEST

Abu Dhabi Sports Council partners with PCB to once again offer free entry to all days of the test.

New Zealand and Pakistan will return to Abu Dhabi for the final and  deciding Test between the two equally balanced teams, as New Zealand’s tour to the UAE comes to a close with a nail-biting final match.

The five-day match, to be held between 3rd and 7th December at Zayed Cricket Stadium, will be the concluding clash for supremacy. And although Pakistan won the T20 series, the Kiwis drew the ODI series against the Men in Green. In this final game, the two finely matched sides will be looking for a final win before leaving the UAE.

Pakistan stormed to victory against the Black Caps in the second Test in Dubai, winning by an innings and sixteen runs, following the Kiwis’ slim win in Abu Dhabi by 4 runs. With the series poised, both sides are hungry for a final victory to round off the series.

Following Yasir Shah’s impressive 14 wickets in 184 balls which he took during the second test, the fierce Pakistan bowling line-up will be looking to sink their teeth into the New Zealand batsmen. But Kane Williamson’s side will be looking to re-assert their batting credentials and pull the series back for a Black Caps victory.

This match will be the last opportunity for cricket fans to enjoy the game this season, as it is the final international match planned in the UAE until after the new year. With entry free throughout the test match, fans are encouraged to head down to Abu Dhabi Cricket to enjoy the last opportunity to see international cricket in the capital this year.

Matt Boucher, Acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket, said: “It’s been a brilliant Test, ODI and T20 season here at Zayed Cricket Stadium, involving Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand; three of the best exponents of every form of the game. The quality of cricket has been exceptional and, together with our friends at Abu Dhabi Sports Council, we congratulate all the players and staff for providing us with a memorable three months.

“Abu Dhabi Cricket is continuing to re-energize its position on the international and domestic sporting stage. We’ve hosted 42 international match days, welcomed 72,000 fans for the Asia Cup, delivered the inaugural Abu Dhabi T20, held 52 international practice days in a short 4-month period, and we continue to host 9,500 kids and adults each week from 28 partner community operators. Our thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board and all our partners for their continued support to sport in Abu Dhabi.”
