Zayed Cricket Academy U19 Team scored an emphatic six-wicket win over Cricket School of Excellence (CSE) to round off the UAE National Academies League ‘Super Eight’ phase in second position.

They now play the third-placed Kricket Spero in the semi-finals while the table toppers Desert Cubs-Sharjah meet Sharjah Academy in the other.

CSE electing to bat first were skittled out for 112 in 26.3 overs. Burhan Hussaini, Khalid Mahmood, Abhishek Prakash and Raees Ayan, who provided the early breakthrough, took two wickets each.

Zayed Academy were given a jolt at the beginning of their chase. They lost two wickets in the very first over but recovered through a third wicket partnership between Fazal Shahid (22) and Osama Hassan, who played the anchor role to guide his team to victory.

Osama hit a 62-ball 38 not out with three fours and a six, and featured in three useful partnerships. He put on 43 with Fazal for the third wicket, 26 for the next with Abhishek (13) and 44 without being separated for the fifth wicket with Khalid (19no).
